Shelby’s Island Care Co. is here to be your go-to when you’re not sure who to call, can’t be on island yourself, or simply don’t want to leave the island to run an errand. From routine home watch visits to coordinating small services or helping with everyday needs while you’re here, my focus is on clear communication, quick response, and taking care of the little things before they turn into bigger issues.
While You're Away
Homewatch Inspection
Our standard home watch service includes routine interior and exterior visual inspections of your home, including landscaping and pool areas, to help catch issues early while you’re away. After each visit, you’ll receive a detailed email report with photos, giving you a clear picture of your property and letting you know if anything needs attention.
Minor Landscaping and Plant Care
Minor landscaping and houseplant care is offered for low-maintenance yards to help keep your property tidy between regular services. This may include tending to flower or vegetable gardens, pulling or spraying weeds in rock yards or native landscaping, collecting fallen palm fronds, light pruning, extra watering as needed, and caring for houseplants while you’re away.
Mail Forwarding and Package Retrieval
Mail forwarding and package retrieval services are available to ensure important items are collected and handled while you’re away. This includes picking up mail and packages, securing them inside the home, and coordinating forwarding or delivery as requested, so nothing is left unattended.
Maintenance Coordination
Maintenance coordination takes the stress out of scheduling and managing routine services like A/C maintenance and other home upkeep. I handle booking directly with service providers, let them in as needed, and can be on-site while the work is being done, so you don’t have to worry about being there or coordinating from afar. I can also provide construction/project updates with photos while you’re away.
Vehicle Maintenance
Vehicle maintenance support is available to help keep cars and golf carts in good working order while you’re away. I can perform routine checks, start vehicles, and drive them periodically for an additional fee. If any issues are noticed, an experienced mechanic is available to assess and address minor repairs or maintenance so problems can be handled promptly.
Storm Preparation
Storm preparation services are available to help protect your home when storms approach while you’re away. This may include securing or moving outdoor furniture inside, rolling down automatic shutters, coordinating shutter installation or removal, and checking flood barriers or other protective measures so your home is as prepared as possible.
Before You Arrive
Arrival services are designed to help make your return to the island easy and stress-free. From preparing your home to handling last-minute details, everything is taken care of so you can settle in and enjoy your time right away.
Pre-Arrival Home Preparation
Pre-arrival home preparation ensures your home is comfortable and ready when you arrive. This may include turning on water, setting the thermostat or pool heater, turning on the ice maker and water heater, so everything feels welcoming and ready to enjoy.
Grocery and Supply Stocking
Grocery and supply stocking is available so essentials are waiting for you when you arrive. Items can be picked up ahead of time and placed in the home, fridge, or pantry based on your preferences, saving you a trip off island.
Arrival Coordination and Access Support
Arrival coordination services help make your arrival smooth and stress-free. This may include accepting deliveries, coordinating last-minute service visits, booking home cleaners or airport transportation, and being a local point of contact in case anything comes up before or during your arrival.
While You're Here
Errand Running & Personal Shopping
Errand and personal shopping services are available when you’d rather stay on island. This may include grocery runs, prescription pickup, returns, or other local errands as needed.
Minor Landscaping and Garden Care
Light landscaping support is available for low-maintenance yards and gardens. Services may include tending flower or vegetable gardens, light weeding, extra watering, and collecting fallen debris.
Appointments, Deliveries & Vehicle Coordination
Coordination services are available for appointments, deliveries, and vehicle needs. This may include scheduling services, letting providers in, being present during visits, and taking vehicles or golf carts to service appointments so you don’t have to wait or leave the island.
Pet Care
Pet care services help keep pets comfortable and cared for while you’re here or away for the day. This may include dog walking, feeding, let-outs, and check-ins, with limited overnight care available upon request.
Home & Lifestyle Assistance
Everyday help is available for the tasks that make island living easier. This may include light household assistance, organizing small areas, setting up guest spaces, or helping with simple requests around the home.
Vacation Planning & Local Reservations
Vacation planning support is available to help you and your guests enjoy the island. This may include planning local outings, making dinner reservations, booking activities, and coordinating experiences when family or friends are visiting.
When You Depart
When it’s time to head out, departure services help take care of the final details. Your home is checked, secured, and transitioned smoothly back into away mode.
Departure & Home Shut Down
Departure services help transition your home back into away mode. This may include adjusting thermostats, shutting off water if requested, checking appliances, securing doors and windows, and preparing the home for long term vacancy.
Departure Cleaning & Service Coordination
Post-departure coordination services help take care of things after you’ve left the island. This may include scheduling cleaners, coordinating routine services, and being present if needed, so your home is properly reset and cared for while you’re away.
Travel Day & Last-Minute Support
Support is available on travel days to help with unexpected or last-minute needs. This may include trash removal, package collection, final errands, and coordinating airport transportation or other travel arrangements so everything goes smoothly.
